Baylor School Girls Swimming Ranked Second Nationally

CHATTANOOGA, TN- For the fourth year in a row, the Baylor School girl’s swimming team is ranked in the top ten in the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association’s national dual meet rankings for 2009-2010 season.

Baylor girls ranked second in the independent school division, behind the Bolles School of Jacksonville, Florida, and ahead of national powers Peddie School of Hightstown, NJ, and Germantown Academy of Ft Washington, Pa. Baylor ranked fourth in the combined public and private school division behind Carmel HS of Indiana, Bolles, and Cherry Creek HS of Colorado.

The lady aqua raiders were undefeated in the dual meet season for the fifth year in a row going 9-0, and won the TISCA state swimming championship for the third year in a row. In that meet, Baylor won all three relays and six of eight individual swimming events.

In 2008-2009 Baylor won the national dual meet championship, in 2007-2008 they ranked second, and in 2006-2007 ranked seventh nationally.

“Our girl’s program has been a real model of consistency over the past four years with a steady climb to national prominence”, said Baylor School Head Coach Dan Flack. “This ranking by these young ladies is one more step for our program in establishing the Baylor Swimming brand as a national power both in the pool and in the classroom.”
