Please be sure to wear some warm clothing before and after you swim, this includes socks and or shoes to keep your feet warm.
Here are some Important Things to Remember About Going to a Swim Meet
Prior to the beginning of the meet, ALL parents should write the events the child will be swimming on the child's arm. This should include event #, heat #, and lane #. (This information can be found by purchasing a heat sheet when you arrive at the swim meet) This will enable the swimmer to determine if he/she is in the correct place.
All Baylor swimmers will be sitting together in a designated area. All swimmers must remain in that area while they are not swimming an event. The field house adjacent to the pool will be available for swimmers to camp out to wait for events. Only swimmers, coaches, and meet volunteers will be allowed on the pool deck during the meet.
Immediately before and after each race, your child should see the coaching staff to get feedback on their performance. This is the best time for the child to get a clear understanding of what things they did well, and what they still need to work on.
Parents please remember that the coaches are not responsible for getting swimmers to the blocks for their race. The coaches need to make sure they watch every child's race. Go out and have fun, and swim your best.
PLEASE REMEMBER: We are not all about awards and time standards. Your child may not always have a best time or get an award, but they may do other things that the coaching staff and the swimmer should be proud of.
For more detailed information regarding attending swim meets please see the following pages in your team handbook: page 12- Swim Meet Policies and page 14-15- Meet Entries.

Vredeveld set a new Southeastern Swimming record in the 13-14 girls 100 meter freestyle, posting a time of 58.0, breaking the old record of 58.18 by Olympian Gabrielle Rose in 1992. Kristen also set new Baylor Swim Club records for 13-14 girls in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 400 free, and 200 IM and won the 13-14 girls 100 and 200 backstrokes. Baylor Ranks In Top 25 for USA Swimming Club Excellence Program for the 2009 Season
What exciting news! The Baylor Swim Club has been awarded by United States Swimming the distinction as being the 25th nationally ranked swim club in the USA Swimming Club Excellence program for the 2009 swimming season! This is the fifth year that the Baylor Swim Club has received the Silver Medal distinction. What exactly does this mean? This means that Baylor Swim Club is recognized as one of the top clubs in the country based on organizational professionalism and athletic performance.
To qualify for this award, Baylor had to submit an extensive report to United States Swimming, documenting club professionalism as well as both national and world-class performance.
Baylor Swim Club had a great performance scoring 17,778 points, ranking second in Southeastern Swimming, and ranking Baylor in the top 25 nationally for the second year in a row. Baylor is the smallest club based on membership to rank in the top 40 among the over 1000 clubs that participated.
Parents, I just want to review some billing items with you. If you have children in the AG, Junior, Senior or MS/HS Prep group you will receive your monthly statement via mail about the fifteenth of each month. This statement is for the following month. For example the bill you receive in September is for the October fees. All statements should be paid by the last day of each month. Any accounts that are not paid by the last day of the month will accrue a $5 late fee. You can return your payment in the mail or you may bring a check to the office. If I am not in the office feel free to leave it on my computer monitor stand.
All families participating in the developmental program will need to register their child for each session of developmental by the first day of the session. As long as you are registered before the first day of the session you will be ready to participate in that session. Once you have registered the first time you will no longer be charged the USA and Club registration fees. Those fees are only charged at the beginning of each new swim year. I will send out an email during the last week of the current session reminding you of the upcoming session registration. If you are currently enrolled in the session and want to continue in the next session simply bring your payment into the office by the first day of the next session.
We will not allow children to practice until they are registered.
If you are planning on taking a break and your child is in AG, Junior, Senior or MS/HS prep remember in order not to be billed for the next month I need to have written notification at least 30 days in advance. So for example, if you know you are not going to swim in December I must receive an email from you stating that no later than Nov.1.If the written statement is not received by that date you will be charged. Please understand that telling the coach does not count as proper notification.
If you have any further questions please email Laura Pitman
