Coach Jake Sosna is an alumni of the Baylor School and was a former NISCA High School All-American. During his time at Baylor, he was part of three state championship teams and two Independent High School National Championship teams. Sosna was also a member of several school and state record relay teams. Following his years at Baylor he went on to swim in college at the University of Alabama.
Sosna began swimming at the age of seven in Knoxville, Tennessee before moving to Signal Mountain where he was a member of the Green Giants. Jake swam for the Green Giants for ten summers winning CASL’s City Meet each year. His final summer he was awarded CASL’s highest honor, the Jennifer Fugate Scholarship award, as well as Signal Mountain’s Green Giant Award. He began coaching at the age of fifteen with the Signal Mountain Green Giants, and he will be the head coach at Signal Mountain for the 2016 summer season.
Jake is a Junior in his first year at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga pursuing a degree in Secondary Education with a focus on History. He currently is a member and Coach for the UTC Mocs Swim Club.
After graduation he hopes to stay in the Chattanooga area and teach, as well as further his coaching career. While not at the pool or school Jake likes to use his free time to workout, attend sporting events, and hangout with family.
