The host team, Huntsville Swim Association has asked us to pass the following information to all parents & swimmers attending the meet:
WARM-UP / WARM DOWN: The therapy pool will be open throughout the 13 & over morning session for warm-up and warm-down. The 12 & under’s will be swimming in 7 lanes in the Legacy pool, and have the 8th lane for warm-up and warm-down. The Legacy pool will be open for warm-up and warm-down throughout the Finals sessions, as well as the distance session on Thursday night and Sunday afternoon.
PARKING: We have parking on-site for the meet both in front of and behind the pool. The lot directly behind the Legacy pool is reserved for officials, Park and Rec. Employees, and key meet staff. If we need additional parking, there is space on the opposite side of Brahan Spring Lake to park, with a convenient walking trail between the parking lot and the pool. Please remind your families to drive slowly and patiently through the lots.
HEAT SHEETS will not be for sale, but will be published on our website here and on meet mobile. We will also publish finals heat sheets through our website at swimhsa.org.
No folding or camp chairs are allowed inside the facility, as well as hard-sided coolers. Stadium chairs are fine. We ask that swimmers and families not “set up” in the lobby areas. We also ask that spectators respect the Handicapped seating areas. We do not allow “reserving seats” in the spectator or athlete seating areas. No athletes should climb over the rail in the competition pool. Finally, all bleachers will be closed after each session for cleaning. Please take all personal items with you at the end of each session.
LOCKER ROOMS / RESTROOMS: Due to new Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy updates, all locker rooms that are adjacent to both the Competition pool and Legacy pools will be ATHLETE ONLY. Coaches, Officials, and Spectators will use the concourse bathrooms, the family restrooms, and the Legacy pool lobby bathrooms. Please ask your athletes to only use the Locker rooms for all of their needs.
TENT VILLAGE: We have a large tent “village” set up behind the Legacy pool for athlete and spectator seating. The tents are equipped with numerous fans that MUST NOT BE MOVED. The area is grassy and we have had some rain, so if you would like to bring tarps to lay down you can. However, PLEASE REMIND PARENTS TO BE NICE, WORK TOGETHER (EVEN WITH PARENTS FROM OTHER TEAMS), AND BE EFFICIENT WITH THE SPACE THAT THEY USE! Folding and camp chairs are welcome in this area, as well as coolers. We also ask that parents, not set up their own tents in that area.
VENDORS:Northwest Designs will be on site selling t-shirts. First Place Athletics will be on site selling suits, goggles, and any other swimming needs beginning Thursday night. ProSwim Visuals will be on-site for photography services.
CONCESSIONS will be Nothing Bundt Cake, Chick-Fil-A (Friday and Saturday Lunch), and Subway (Lunch Sunday).
ATHLETE HOSPITALITY: We will have an athlete hospitality table on the deck for swimmers to take advantage of in both pools.
COMPETITION POOL INFO: In the 13 & over pool for prelims, we will run chase starts for all events except the 50’s, the 800 free, and the 1500 free. Odd heats will start from the window end, and even heats will start from the flag end. All 50’s will start at the Flag end, and all 800/1500 free’s will start at the window end. Finals will all start at the window end. We will not run chase starts in the 12 & under pool. All events will start from the diving board end of the pool.

Please be sure to wear some warm clothing before and after you swim, this includes socks and or shoes to keep your feet warm.
Here are some Important Things to Remember About Going to a Swim Meet
Prior to the beginning of the meet, ALL parents should write the events the child will be swimming on the child’s arm. This should include event #, heat #, and lane #. (This information can be found by accessing a heat sheet, which is posted on the Huntsville Swim Association website) This will enable the swimmer to determine if he/she is in the correct place.
The top 8 swimmers for 11-12 & 13-14 and the top 24 swimmers in the Senior age group have finals in the evening- Please see the Expected Protocol for ALL families participating in PRELIMS / FINALS meets- page 17-18 in the Team Handbook
Parents, please remember that the coaches are not responsible for getting swimmers to the blocks for their race. The coaches need to make sure they watch every child’s race. Go out and have fun, and swim your best.
All parents must remain off the pool deck and in the stands above the pool during the swim meet. The pool is reserved for swimmers, meet officials, and meet volunteers ONLY.
PLEASE REMEMBER:We are not all about awards and time standards. Your child may not always have a best time or get an award, but they may do other things that the coaching staff and the swimmer should be proud of.
For more detailed information regarding attending swim meets please see the following pages in your team handbook: page 15- Swim Meet Policies, pages 16-18- Competitions, and page 1819- Meet Entries. (Baylor Swim Club Team Handbook: 2021-2022 Season)

What exciting news! The Baylor Swim Club has been awarded by United States Swimming the distinction of being a nationally ranked Silver Medal swim club in the USA Swimming Club of Excellence program for the 2022 swimming season!
What exactly does this mean? This means that Baylor Swim Club is recognized as one of the top clubs in the country based on organizational professionalism and athletic performance. To qualify for this award, Baylor had to submit an extensive report to United States Swimming, documenting club professionalism as well as both national and world-class performance.
New folders have been created for the 2021-2022 season and are available. All awards from meets and past meets will be filed in the athletes’ folders on the pool deck. Each athlete on the Baylor Swim Club should have a folder where these awards will be placed after meets. Please have your child check the folders on the pool deck after practices. The folder boxes are located on a table next to the staff office on the pool deck. If for some reason your child does not have a folder, please email Coach Brian.
