Here are some Important Things to Remember About Going to a Swim Meet
Prior to the beginning of the meet, ALL parents should write the events the child will be swimming on the child’s arm. This should include event #, heat #, and lane #. (This information can be found by accessing a heat sheet, which is posted at a link above) This will enable the swimmer to determine if he/she is in the correct place.
All Baylor swimmers will be sitting together in a designated area. All swimmers must remain in that area while they are not swimming an event.
Clerk of Course– there will be some parent volunteers on the deck to make sure athletes get to the blocks for their races
Immediately before and after each race, your child should see the coaching staff to get feedback on their performance. This is the best time for the child to get a clear understanding of what things they did well, and what they still need to work on.
Parents, please remember that the coaches are not responsible for getting swimmers to the blocks for their race. The coaches need to make sure they watch every child’s race. Go out and have fun, and swim your best.
All parents must remain off the pool deck and in the stands above the pool during the swim meet. The pool is reserved for swimmers, meet officials, and meet volunteers ONLY.
PLEASE REMEMBER: We are not all about awards and time standards. Your child may not always have a best time or get an award, but they may do other things that the coaching staff and the swimmer should be proud of.

CHATTANOOGA, TN– Baylor School / Baylor Swim Club has announced that Payton Brooks, an Assistant Swim Coach for the Virginia Tech Hokies, has been named Head Coach / Director of Competitive Swimming for the Baylor Swimming & Diving Programs. Coach Brooks becomes the tenth Head Coach in program history.
“Payton is everything that we were looking for in a head swim coach. He has been an integral part of successful programs at a variety of levels and reputably builds a strong rapport with his athletes,” said Baylor School Athletic Director Mark Price. “I am eager for our student-athletes to have the opportunity to develop under his leadership, and I am confident that he will continue to build upon the success of this tradition-rich program.”
Brooks joined the Hokie staff as the assistant in 2019; he played a role in leading the Tech men to 11th-place finishes at the NCAA Championships the past two seasons – the highest finishes in school history. The Tech women finished 21st and 23rd respectively, earning the lady Hokies the second and third-highest finishes for the program. Through these performances, the Hokies earned 42 All-American honors.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- USA Swimming released the roster for its 2021-2022 Scholastic All-America Team, and two Baylor Swim Club / Baylor School student-athletes were selected for this honor.
Making the Scholastic All–America team from Baylor is senior Sam Flack, junior Drew Hitchcock, and sophomore Luke Waldrep. Congratulations to these scholar-athletes on their achievement, as well as the coaches and parents who help support the athletes every day.
This is just to remind everyone about parking options while athletes are attending swim practice. We now are full into the school season which means there are nights where LOTS of activities are taking place on campus. This means your usual parking spaces may be filled. When these nights occur please be courteous and drop your child off either in the front or the back entrance of the pool then proceed to a parking spot. There are many spaces in the front of the pool, a few on the side of the building, and many in the back of the building in the adjacent lot as well as spaces in another parking lot if you turn left out of the lot behind the pool.
Please do not back up traffic as you sit and wait for a parking space to be cleared. We ask that you either circle the lot or find another area.
Please be mindful of the handicapped spaces as well. Do not park there if you do not have a handicapped sticker or tag.
The 2022-2023 Baylor Swim Club Team Handbook is now available in the Members section. The Team Handbook consists of all the policies and procedures for members that have joined the Baylor Swim Club.
