Sam Vargo was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and began swimming for the Chattanooga Area Swim League at age six. Shortly after, she started swimming year-round at Baylor Swim Club. Sam attended Signal Mountain High School, graduated from the International Baccalaureate Program and swam all four years. She began coaching at the age of fourteen for Signal Mountain Green Giants until the age of twenty, as well as giving swim lessons. She went on to swim at King University, a Division 2 school in Bristol, Tennessee, for four years. She broke the 100 Butterfly record, numerous relay records each year, and graduated in December of 2017. She majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology and an endorsement in English as a Second Language.
Sam loves working with children and aspires to receive her Master’s in Education. If Sam is not teaching or coaching, she is spending time with her family, friends, and dogs.
