Addison Smith Claims 5th 2020 Olympic Team Trials Cut On Day 3 of Phillips 66 National Championships

STANFORD, CA- On Friday at the 2019 USA Swimming Phillips 66 National Championships, Addison Smith claimed her 5th 2020 Olympic Team Trials qualifying time this year.  This time she did it in prelims in 400-meter Individual Medley posting at time of 4:51.21.  She now has cuts in the 200 free, 400 free, 200 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM.  This is the most Olympic Trials qualifying times acheived by an individual in different events in Baylor Swim Club history.

On Thursday at the Phillips 66 National Championships, teammate Ellie Waldrep qualified for the 2020 Olympic Team Trials in the 200-meter backstroke.  She was the only other Baylor athlete to compete on Friday as she swam to a time of 1:02.20 in prelims of the 100-meter butterfly.

All four Baylor Swim Club athletes will take the pool on Saturday at the 2019 Phillips 66 National Championships.  Beginning at 12 p.m. ET, each day’s prelim session will be streamed live in its entirety at usaswimming.org.  Live finals will be available on the Olympic Channel, NBC Sports Network, or the NBC Sports app
