HUNTSVILLE, AL- On Day 3 of the Southeastern Swimming Long Course Championships, Baylor Swim Club athlete Addison Smith has qualified for the 2020 Olympic Team Trials in the 200-meter butterfly. She claimed 1st overall in the event with a time of 2:13.09. This is the fourth 2020 Olympic Trials qualifying time for Smith this year, as she already has qualifying standards in the 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, and the 200 IM. Addison is a recent 2019 graduate of the Baylor School, and she will continue her swimming career at Princeton University in the fall. The Southeastern Swimming Long Course Championships (July 18-21) features over 800 athletes from the Southeastern LSC, and is being held at the Huntsville Aquatics Center in Huntsville, AL. Smith will take to the pool again at the end of the month at the USA Swimming Phillips 66 National Championships (July 30 – Aug. 4) in Stanford, CA.
The Baylor Swim Club currently has four athletes qualified for the 2020 Olympic Team Trials: Addison Smith (200 & 400 FR, 200 IM, 200 FLY), Cecilia Porter (100 BR), Ellie Waldrep (100 BK), and University of Florida swimmer Trey Freeman (200 & 400 FR). The Olympic Team Trials- Swimming will be held June 21-28, 2020 at CHI Health Center in Omaha, NE.
