NASHVILLE, TN- This past weekend (March 5-7, 2021) the Baylor Swim Club sent eleven athletes to compete in the 2021 Southeastern Swimming Short Course Age Group Championships at Ensworth School in Nashville, TN. The meet featured many of the top 14 & Under swimmers from the state of Tennessee.
Leading the way for the Baylor Swim Club were some big-time performances from four-teen-year-old Luke Waldrep. He took the Southeastern Swimming Age Group Championship posting a time of 49.24 in the 13-14 boys 100-yard-freestyle. Waldrep also claimed 2nd in the 200-yard freestyle, 3rd in the 500-yard freestyle, and 3rd in the 200-yard IM. With a total of 96.5 points, he was named the individual high point runner-up for the 13-14 boys age group. In the process, Waldrep also broke Baylor Middle School records in the 100, 200, and 500-yard freestyle events.
Monroe Chittum had a break-through meet taking the Southeastern Swimming Age Group Championship in the 13-14 girls 200-yard breaststroke posting a finals time of 2:27.42. She also finished 4th overall in the 200-yard IM.
