KNOXVILLE, TN- This past week (January 16-19) Baylor Swim Club athletes Lillie Boggs, Alex Borisov, Jewel Gordon, Will Tippett, Logan Watson-Brown, and Ellie Waldrep competed in the 2020 TYR Pro Swim Series Knoxville. This meet featured some of the top swimmers from all across the United States and was swum at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatics Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee. Leading the way for Baylor was fourteen-year-old Lillie Boggs. Boggs took down Baylor Swim Club 13-14-year-old girls team records in both the 400-meter IM and the 400-meter freestyle events.
Seventeen-year-old Ellie Waldrep continued her fast swimming to start of the 2020 year. She won the C-Final heat in the 100-meter backstroke swimming a time of 1:02.37. Waldrep is currently qualified to compete in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the 100 and 200-meter backstroke events this summer. The Olympic Team Trials- Swimming will be held on June 21-28, 2020 at CHI Health Center in Omaha, NE.
Alex Borisov competed in the D-Final of the 200-meter breaststroke to claim seventh in the heat with a time of 2:30.07.
