Porter Leads Baylor on Day 2 of NCSA Junior National Championships, Qualifies for Summer Nationals

ORLANDO, FL- The Baylor Swim Club had some great performances on Day 2 of the NCSA Junior National Championships in Orlando, FL, but none was better than Cecilia Porter in the 100-yard breaststroke.  Her time of 1:00.58 has qualified her for the USA Swimming Phillips 66 National Championships in the 100-yard breaststroke. She finished third overall in the event and swam a new Baylor Swim Club team record.  Porter broke her own team record which was set earlier this year at the TISCA State Championships in Nashville. She will now compete at the Phillips 66 USA Swimming National Championships this summer July 30- August 4 at the Stanford Avery Aquatics Center in Palo Alto, CA.  Follow all the exciting action in Orlando this week with the links below

The girls 200 Medley Relay of Ellie Waldrep, Cecilia Porter, Addison Smith, and Jewel Gordon finished second overall in the event blasting a time of 1:39.69.  Both Ellie Waldrep and Addison Smith finished in the top 8 in events on Wednesday evening.  Waldrep claimed eighth in the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:56.76, while Addison Smith took seventh in the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:00.12.

The Baylor boys were led by solid performances from Jack Kirby and Alex Borisov.  Kirby swam to a sixth place finish in the 200- yard backstroke swimming a time of 1:45.54, while Borisov finished 12th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 55.38.
