TUPELO, MS- This past week, July 26-30 twelve-year-old Anara Summers represented the Southeastern Swimming LSC as a member of their Zone All-Star Team competing in the 2022 Southern Zone Age Group Swimming Championships. The meet was at the Tupelo Aquatic Center in Tupelo, MS, and featured some of the best age group swimmers from the LSC’s within the Southern Zone of the USA. Summers started the meet off with a bang swimming to a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle. Her time of 4:44.45 also broke her own Baylor Swim Club 11-12 team record that was set earlier this summer.
Anara Summers broke her own team record in the 11-12 200-meter freestyle posting a time of 2:14.87 to claim 5th overall in the event. She was also a member of Southeastern Swimming’s 11-12 girls 400-meter freestyle relay (Peyton Williams, Anara Summers, AB Curtis, & Ellie Stanley) which finished in second place in the event. Summers also had an 11th place finish in the 100-meter butterfly, 12th in the 200-meter IM, and 19th in the 50-meter butterfly. Southeastern Swimming finished 5th overall in the combined team scores.
