May 18, 2025 — Baylor Swim Club had 16 swimmers (14 senior group swimmers and 2 junior group swimmers) attend and race at the 2025 Bulldog Grand Slam held in the Gabrielsen Natatorium at the University of Georgia from May 16-18. The meet had swimmers from some of the best teams in the state of Georgia, such as Dynamo Swim Club and SwimAtlanta, along with some of other nationally recognized clubs such as Lakeside Swim Team. Some of the University of Georgia’s athletes were also present at the meet.
Many of our swimmers not only qualified for second swims throughout the meet, they also had some good swims to earn personal bests. One of the major highlights from this meet came from AB Curtis (Baylor Varsity) in the women’s 100m backstroke as she qualified for her first winter junior national event! The 2025 Winter Jr. National time standard is a 1:04.79 (Curtis went a 1:04.70). This time currently puts her 20th overall in the country among 15yr olds, and 40th overall among the 15-16 age group in the country.
Curtis is now the 2nd swimmer from Baylor Swim Club that has qualified for the 2025 Winter Jr. Nationals (joining Hayden Vicknair).
