COLORADO SPRINGS, CO– On Thursday, October 18th, Baylor Swim Club / Baylor School alumni Trey Freeman was named to USA Swimming’s 2019 World University Games team. Freeman will compete with Team USA at the World University Games, which will be held July 4-10, 2019 in Naples, Italy. He is currently a freshman swimming at the University of Florida. Freeman earned a spot on the team with his performance at the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships this past summer.
He claimed fifth overall in the 400-meter freestyle in a time of 3:49.90. In the morning prelims session, Freeman swam to a personal best time of 3:49.02 which earned him a spot in the championship final. He will compete in the 200 and 400-meter freestyle events at the World University Games this summer.
Fifty-two athletes from seventeen different college programs are represented on the roster. Texas leads the way with eight swimmers slated to compete, while California and NC State follow with six team members each.
