Baylor Alumni Trey Freeman Selected to 2018-2019 USA Swimming National Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO- On Tuesday, September 4th USA Swimming announced that Baylor Swim Club / Baylor School alumni Trey Freeman had been selected as a member of the 2018-2019 National Team.  Freeman was selected to the team based on his performance in the 400 meter freestyle at the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships this summer in Irvine, CA.  He claimed fifth overall in a time of 3:49.90.  In the morning prelims session on Sat., Freeman swam to a personal best time of 3:49.02 which earned him a spot in the championship final.

The 2018-19 USA Swimming National Team features the top six athletes in each individual Olympic event based off the combined results of the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships, 2018 Pan Pacific Championships and 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championships.  Baylor Swim Club / Baylor School Head Coach Dan Flack was also named as a 2018-2019 National Team coach based on Freeman’s performances over the year.  Coach Flack just returned from a stint as Men’s Head Coach of USA Swimming’s National Junior Team in Fiji at the end of August.
