What exciting news! The Baylor Swim Club has been awarded by United States Swimming the distinction of being a nationally ranked Silver Medal swim club in the USA Swimming Club of Excellence program for the 2022 swimming season!
What exactly does this mean? This means that Baylor Swim Club is recognized as one of the top clubs in the country based on organizational professionalism and athletic performance. To qualify for this award, Baylor had to submit an extensive report to United States Swimming, documenting club professionalism as well as both national and world-class performance.
Baylor Swim Club had a great performance in 2022 scoring 7,055 points. The Baylor Swim Club is the only one in the Greater Chattanooga Area to earn this honor and has been a Silver or Bronze medal club for the thirteenth time out of the last fourteen years. Baylor also ranks 3rd out of all teams in the Southeastern Swimming LSC. The Baylor Swim Club has been recognized as a Silver Medal Club in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. The club has also claimed Bronze Medal status in 2008, 2015, 2016, and 2017.
“To be a USA Swimming Silver Medal Club is a tremendous honor, one in which the entire club should be super proud. I am pleased that all the athletes posting scoring times represented all four competitive strokes as well as five different distances. This goes hand in hand with our club philosophy of overall skill development at the young ages leading to more specific and individual skills that lead to high-level performance,” said Head Coach Dan Flack.
