 BERKELEY, CA- Baylor School / Baylor Swim Club alumni Kristen Vredeveld was awarded one of two PAC-12 postgraduate scholarships based on her academic accomplishments at the University at California at Berkeley and devotion to pursuing graduate studies.  She will receive a scholarship worth $9,000 and will attend law school at Boston University in the fall of 2019.  Kristen has spent the last two years working for the Teach Across America Program in an inner-city school in Atlanta, GA.

 Vredeveld was a four-year varsity swimmer at the University of California at Berkeley.  She was an NCAA Champion as a member of Cal’s 200-yard freestyle relay in 2016.  Vredeveld was also one of the most decorated female athletes to ever come through the Baylor Swimming program.  She was a member of Baylor’s national high school record-setting 200-yard freestyle relay and was a member of the girls Swimming World National Championship team in 2012.  Kristen was a two time Olympic Trials (2012 & 2016) qualifier and represented Team USA at the 2011 FINA World Junior Championships in Lima, Peru.  Finally, Vredeveld was a 4-year NISCA High School All-American and a 7-time TISCA State Champion in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events.
