SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO– This past week, June 23-27, 2021 Baylor School / Baylor Swim Club athlete Josean Massucco competed in the 2021 Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation (CCCAN) Meet representing his home country of Puerto Rico. The meet featured many of the best swimmers from across Central America and the Caribbean and was held at the San Juan Natatorium in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Overall Massucco had an outstanding competition and finished the meet with eight gold and two silver medals. Puerto Rico finished in first place in the combined team scores racking up a total of 1,697 points. Massucco took first place in the 15-17 age group in the 800-meter freestyle, 400-meter IM, 200-meter butterfly, and 400-meter freestyle. He capped off the meet with a first-place finish and strong come back in the 100-meter butterfly posting a time of 57.50. He was also a member of three gold medal-winning relays for Team Puerto Rico.
Baylor School / Baylor Swim Club teammate Santiago Domenech also competed in the CCCAN swimming competition as a member of Team Puerto Rico. Domenech finished 5th in the 200-meter backstroke and 8th in the 100-meter backstroke.
