CHATTANOOGA, TN- Director of Athletics Mark Price and Head Coach Dan Flack are thrilled to announce Lane Winchester as the Baylor School’s diving coach. Coach Winchester will take over as the middle and high school diving coach as well as heading up the Baylor Diving Club. She has a wealth of experience from a diver at the University of Alabama to a club coach at the Atlanta Diving Association. For the last several years, Lane has been working for Signal Energy, LLC, where her focus and passion has been on developing leaders and teams within organizations that have an impact on the world around us. Lane Winchester
Head Diving Coach
Lane joins the Baylor Swimming & Diving family as our newest coach. She brings a unique combination of experience with over a 20-year diving career, 15 years of coaching experience, and 17 years of professional experience in program design and leadership.
As a diver, she began her career at the historic Moss Farms Diving program where she earned a Georgia High School State Championship Title for Colquitt County Highschool, multiple J.O. National Team memberships, A bronze medal in the 1999 World Championships, and a multi-time member of the US Senior National Team. She and her Synchronized partner, Lauryn McCauley Nyday, were national champions on 3M Springboard Synchronized Diving. She continued her diving career with a scholarship to the University of Alabama where she was a member of the University’s Swimming & Diving team. She was a 3-time Team Captain, competed at the NCAA Championships all 4 years, and earned multiple SEC titles and 1 NCAA title.
Lane’s coaching career began early as the developmental and summer camp coach for the Moss Farms program, where she helped turn recreational divers into members of the club team and on to high school, club, and college success. She continued coaching the club team at the University of Alabama and, after graduation, moved to Atlanta and joined the Atlanta Diving Association as a club coach at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. She helped several divers to state and national success with a few joining Division 1 programs. During this time, she also served as a US National Team Selection Judge for USA Diving.
The move to Atlanta started her professional career in HR and Talent Management, beginning with recruiting, retention, and development programs and progressing to Organizational design, development, and executive coaching. She moved to Chattanooga in 2011 and continued her career with TVA and then Signal Energy, LLC, where her focus and passion has been on developing leaders and teams within organizations that have an impact on the world around us and helping create a culture where others thrive.
Lane is a member of the Colquitt County Sports Hall of Fame, The Georgia Aquatic Hall of Fame and the University of Alabama Hall of Fame.
Lane never lost her connection and love for diving, and we are excited to leverage her professional experiences well as her diving background to help us reinvigorate diving here at Baylor. She is married to Zach Winchester, a Baylor Alum, and has 2 daughters.
