CHRIST CHURCH, BARBADOS– This past week, July 9-13, 2022 Baylor School / Baylor Swim Club athlete Josean Massucco competed in the 2022 Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation (CCCAN) Championships representing his home country of Puerto Rico. The meet featured many of the best swimmers from across Central America and the Caribbean and was held at the Barbados Aquatic Centre Wildey in Christ Church, Barbados. Overall Massucco had an outstanding competition and finished the meet with four gold and two bronze medals.
Massucco took first place in the 15-17 age group in the 1500-meter freestyle, 800-meter freestyle, 200-meter butterfly, and 400-meter freestyle. He was also the flag bearer for Team Puerto Rico to open up the competition. Puerto Rico finished in third place in the combined team scores racking up a total of 534.5 points.
Baylor School / Baylor Swim Club teammate Flynn Watson-Brown also competed in the CCCAN swimming competition as a member of Team Bermuda. He finished tenth in the 100-meter freestyle.
