Atlanta, GA — From May 15-18, Baylor Swim Club took 10 athletes, led by Coach Brooks, to compete in the 2024 Speedo Atlanta Classic. This meet featured some of USA Swimming’s current biggest stars, such as Caeleb Dressel, Katie Ledecky, Kieran Smith, Bobby Finke, Bella Sims, Phoebe Bacon, etc.
Baylor Swim Club had a solid representation, especially with 7 out of our 10 swimmers making it back to finals! Anara Summers shined by being the youngest in the group and, while making it back to finals at her age, breaking some Baylor 13-14 historic records, such as the 200 Fly and the 200 IM. The 200 Fly, previously owned by Wendy Oakes in 1998, was broken with a 2:25.23, and the 200 IM, previously held by decorated Baylor School alum – Kristen Vredeveld in 2010 – was broken with a 2:25.25 (while also getting a 2024 Futures Cut).
Full meet results can be found on SwimCloud and/or Meet Mobile.
