Last month, Baylor Swimming & Diving traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, to compete at the U.S. Junior National Championships, one of
the most competitive meets in the country. Baylor was represented by 10 athletes, one of the largest groups of qualifiers in school history.

Those athletes included A.B. Curtis, Javier Diaz Lopez, Luke Higgo, Connor Hupman, Ethan Gover, Anara Summers, Nora Sunderland, Radford Walker, and Hayden Vicknair.
Starting with the women, A.B. Curtis had an outstanding meet, advancing back to finals in two events and earning a 13th-place finish in the 200 backstroke against the nation’s top junior competitors.
On the men’s side, Baylor made a major impact in relay events, placing all five relays in the top ten. Those performances were highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.
Individually, several athletes delivered standout performances. Ethan Gover earned finals appearances in both the 50 and 100 freestyle. Luke Higgo made the A final in the 100 backstroke and finished 7th overall. Hayden Vicknair had an exceptional meet, finishing 17th in the 100 butterfly, 12th in the 50 freestyle, and capturing a national title as the 2025 U.S. Junior National Champion in the 200 butterfly.
This meet represents an important step forward for Baylor Swimming & Diving, and a strong reflection of the program’s continued growth on the national stage.
