CHATTANOOGA, TN- The Baylor School / Baylor Swim Club intended to celebrate the college commitments for the 2020 senior class on Tues., April 13th, however, due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we were not able to do that in the usual in-person party. Therefore we will recognize and celebrate our ten seniors virtually who will be moving on to swim in college. Congratulations to all our student-athletes on their wonderful accomplishments!

CHATTANOOGA, TN- On the weekend of February 14-16, 2020, over one hundred and thirty Baylor Swim Club athletes competed in the Southeastern Swimming Region 2 Championships held at the Baylor School Natatorium. Over 600 athletes from the Southeastern Swimming LSC East Region swam in the two and a half-day competition. The Baylor Swim Club took the overall team title, scoring 1,584 points. Tenessee Aquatics finished second with 502 points, while McCallie/ GPS Aquatics claimed third with 497.50 points. One of the highlights of the meet came from the Baylor senior girls 200 yard Medley Relay. The quartet of Ellie Waldrep, Breanna Belcher, Avery Wilson, and Audrey Rackel broke the 17-18 girls Southeastern Swimming record in the event posting a time of 1:45.66. The previous record set back in 2010 was held Baylor Swim Club’s Lauren Williams, Alison Lusk, Anna Rae Gwarjanski, and Ashley Vance.

KNOXVILLE, TN- On Friday and Saturday, February 7-8 the Baylor School has won the combined and girls 2020 TISCA State Swimming & Diving Championships. This is the fifteenth year in a row that the Baylor School has won the combined team title, while the girls claimed their second state title in a row with a victory over Harpeth Hall. Harpeth Hall has won the Swimming World High School National Championship in both 2018 & 2019. The Baylor School boys finished in a first-place tie with the McCallie School with both teams scoring 248 points as the meet came down to the final relays. This is the first time since 2013 that the Baylor School was able to take the combined, girls, and boys state championships. The high school state meet was held on the campus of the University of Tennessee at the Alan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center in Knoxville, TN.

KNOXVILLE, TN- The Baylor School got off to fast start on day one of the 2020 TISCA State Swimming & Diving Championships. After Friday evening finals, the Baylor School leads in the combined team scores with 217 points. The girls also lead in the team scores with 119 points, followed closely by Harpeth Hall in second with 117 points. On the boys side Baylor is in second with a total of 98 points. McCallie School is leading the way with 108 points, and Montgomery Bell is in third with 96.5 points The high school state meet is being held on the campus of the University of Tennessee at the Alan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center in Knoxville, TN.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO– On Tuesday, January 21, USA Swimming announced the honorees for the fourth-annual 18 & Under World 100, recognizing many of the nation’s top up-and-coming swimmers for their performances in 2019. This year Baylor Swim Club athletes Cecilia Porter, Ellie Waldrep, and alumni Addison Smith made the list.

KNOXVILLE, TN- This past week (January 16-19) Baylor Swim Club athletes Lillie Boggs, Alex Borisov, Jewel Gordon, Will Tippett, Logan Watson-Brown, and Ellie Waldrep competed in the 2020 TYR Pro Swim Series Knoxville. This meet featured some of the top swimmers from all across the United States and was swum at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatics Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee. Leading the way for Baylor was fourteen-year-old Lillie Boggs. Boggs took down Baylor Swim Club 13-14-year-old girls team records in both the 400-meter IM and the 400-meter freestyle events.

CHATTANOOGA, TN- On the weekend of January 10-12, over forty Baylor Swim Club athletes traveled to Knoxville, TN to race in the Pilot Flying J January Classic held on the campus of the University of Tennessee at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. Over 500 swimmers from the states of Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Kentucky competed in the three-day swim meet.

What exciting news! The Baylor Swim Club has been awarded by United States Swimming the distinction of being a nationally ranked Silver Medal swim club in the USA Swimming Club of Excellence program for the 2020 swimming season!
What exactly does this mean? This means that Baylor Swim Club is recognized as one of the top clubs in the country based on organizational professionalism and athletic performance. To qualify for this award, Baylor had to submit an extensive report to United States Swimming, documenting club professionalism as well as both national and world-class performance.
