The Baylor School is now hiring lifeguards for the fall, winter, and spring seasons. Applicants must have a current lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross, YMCA or Ellis. We have several different shifts available including mornings, mid-day and evenings. Morning and Evening shifts are during coached practices, midday is lap swim. All shifts are at the Baylor School (171 Baylor School Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37405). Compensation ranges from $8.50 – $12 per hour depending on experience. CHATTANOOGA, TN- The Baylor School Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving team was named by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) as 2018-2019 National Independent School Dual Meet Champions. The NISCA awards program is based on submitted team results of high school athletes (grades 9-12) that are translated into power points. A total of 358 high school teams from across the nation participated in the national dual meet ranking system this year. The Baylor School also claimed the combined (boys & girls) Independent school title racking up a total of 11,501 points.

HUNTSVILLE, AL- On Day 3 of the Southeastern Swimming Long Course Championships, Baylor Swim Club athlete Addison Smith has qualified for the 2020 Olympic Team Trials in the 200-meter butterfly. She claimed 1st overall in the event with a time of 2:13.09. This is the fourth 2020 Olympic Trials qualifying time for Smith this year, as she already has qualifying standards in the 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, and the 200 IM. Addison is a recent 2019 graduate of the Baylor School, and she will continue her swimming career at Princeton University in the fall. The Southeastern Swimming Long Course Championships (July 18-21) features over 800 athletes from the Southeastern LSC, and is being held at the Huntsville Aquatics Center in Huntsville, AL. Smith will take to the pool again at the end of the month at the USA Swimming Phillips 66 National Championships (July 30 – Aug. 4) in Stanford, CA.

CHATTANOOGA, TN- The Baylor Swim Club had eleven athletes earn National Interscholastic Coach Association (NISCA) All American status for the 2018-19 high school swimming season. That makes over 100 individuals and over 125 relays earning All-American status in the program’s rich history of excellence.
Highlighting the 2018-19 season, was the Baylor School girl’s 200 medley relay of Ellie Waldrep, Jewel Gordon, Addison Smith, and Callie West. The quartet swam the fastest time in the entire country on route to winning the state championship in a school and state record time of 1:39.91. This is the 16th time in Baylor’s history where one of the program’s relays ranked first in the country.

AUBURN, AL– This past weekend June 21-23, 2019 the over 50 Baylor Swim Club athletes traveled to Auburn, AL to compete in the 2019 Richard Quick Invitational held at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center located on the campus of Auburn University. Over 500 swimmers from all over the southeast competed in the meet. On Day 1 of the Richard Quick Invitational, Baylor Swim Club athlete Addison Smith qualified for the 2020 Olympic Team Trials in the 200-meter freestyle. She finished 1st overall in the event with a time of 2:00.86. Smith also broke the team record in the event, which was set in 2011 by Baylor School and University of California standout Kristen Vredeveld. On the final day of the meet, Smith also made the Olympic Trials qualifying time in the 200 IM. Her time of 2:17.12 also claimed the top spot in the event.

It is once again time for another great season of CASL summer league swimming, and Nights at the Races. Below is just some information the Baylor Swimming Staff would like to pass on to you.
Every Baylor Swim Club member who participates, officiates, coaches or attends a Monday or Thursday night meet has a great opportunity to spread the word about the benefits of Baylor Swim Club and year-round swimming. Our coaches will make the rounds at many meets, but we can’t be everywhere. These Monday and Thursday night meets are a great way for all members to get involved in building our program.
