COLORADO SPRINGS, CO– Baylor Swim Club / Baylor School athlete, Ellie Waldrep was chosen as one of 48 girls from across the country to participate in USA Swimming’s National Select Camp slated for October 10-13 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
“This is a great opportunity for Ellie. At a camp of this level, Ellie will be exposed to a wide range of information that can really help in her preparation as she transitions to a National level competitor. This camp is for those athletes who are on the cusp of representing the United States in international competition, so hopefully, the experience will give her that push to take her swimming to that next, very exciting level,” said Head Coach Dan Flack.

CHATTANOOGA, TN– The Baylor Swim Club placed seven athletes on the 2018-2019 Southeastern Swimming Age Group All-Star Team. The team was selected during the time period of September 1, 2018-August 31, 2019 from Short Course yards and Long Course Meters results.
Those athletes that were selected to the 2018-19 Southeastern Swimming All-Star Team are Sam Flack, Charlie Han, Hannah Laramore, Ellie Lydon, Avery May, Maddox May, and Luke Waldrep.

CHATTANOOGA, TN– This past weekend, September 21-22, 2019 the Baylor Swim Club hosted and competed in the 2019 Fall Kick-Off Classic held at the Baylor School Natatorium. One Hundred and forty-five Baylor Swim Club athletes participated in the two day meet. Over 400 swimmers from the states of Tennessee and Georgia competed in the swim meet. Special congratulations to all the new Baylor Swim Club athletes that participated in their first-ever year-round swim meet, and to all the parents that volunteered their time this past weekend!

CHATTANOOGA, TN- USA Swimming released the roster for its 2018-2019 Scholastic All-America Team, and four Baylor Swim Club / Baylor School student-athletes were selected for this honor.
Making the Scholastic All–America team from Baylor are seniors Alex Borisov and Will Tippett. Baylor alumni Jameson Mitchum and Addison Smith have also been named to the team. Mitchum is currently a freshman swimming at Claremont McKenna Collge in California, while Smith is swimming at Princeton University in New Jersey.

LIMA, PERU- Representing his home country of Barbados, Baylor School / Baylor Swim Club alumni Jack Kirby finished in 8th overall in the 100-meter backstroke at the 2019 Pan American Games. He swam a time of 56.38 to claim 8th in the A-Final heat on Thursday evening. The Pan American Games are held every four years and features 41 countries from the Americas (North America, South America, Central America, and the Caribbean) competing in 51 different sports. This year the games are being held in Lima, Peru from July 24-August 11 (swimming dates- Aug. 6-11).

STANFORD, CA- This past week (July 30 – August 4), four Baylor Swim Club athletes competed in the 2019 USA Swimming Phillips 66 National Championships held at the Stanford Avery Aquatics Center in Stanford, CA. Many of the very best swimmers from across the country participated in the five day event. The Baylor Swim Club had a strong showing overall highlighted by some great performances from Addison Smith and Ellie Waldrep.

STANFORD, CA- On Friday at the 2019 USA Swimming Phillips 66 National Championships, Addison Smith claimed her 5th 2020 Olympic Team Trials qualifying time this year. This time she did it in prelims in 400-meter Individual Medley posting at time of 4:51.21. She now has cuts in the 200 free, 400 free, 200 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM. This is the most Olympic Trials qualifying times acheived by an individual in different events in Baylor Swim Club history.

STANFORD, CA- On day two of the 2019 USA Swimming Phillips 66 National Championships, Baylor Swim Club / Baylor School athlete Ellie Waldrep has qualified for the 2020 Olympic Team Trials in the 200-meter backstroke. Waldrep posted a time of 2:14.56 in prelims, which also earned her a second swim in the 18 & Under D-Final, and she finished third in her heat. Her swim in the 200-meter backstroke broke her own team record which was set earlier this summer. This is the second Olympic Trials cut Waldrep has achieved this year as she is already qualified in the 100-meter backstroke.
