Baylor Swim Club Has Historic Team Performance at Winter Jr. Nationals
Last month, Baylor Swimming & Diving traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, to compete at the U.S. Junior National Championships, one of

Vicknair Invited to Attend U.S. National Select Camp
Holliman and Vicknair Represent at the 2025 Toyota U.S. Nationals
June 8, 2025 — From June 3-7, our country’s best swimmers gathered together at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana to compete and attempt to qualify for the 2025 World Championships (held in Singapore later this summer). Baylor Swim Club had two swimmers attend and compete at this meet – Elijah Holliman (Senior Group) and Hayden Vicknair (Varsity).
This was both Holliman’s and Vicknair’s first ever U.S. National meet. Holliman competed in the 200m Breaststroke, while Vicknair competed in the 200m, 100m, 50m Butterfly, and the 100m Freestyle.
Vicknair qualified in prelims to have second swims in the D-Final in all of his butterfly events. By the end of his swims, Vicknair swam to some of the fastest times in the 15-16 age group in U.S. history. In the 100m Butterfly, he swam a 54.57 (ranking him 73rd all time in the 15-16 age group in the U.S.). In the 200m Butterfly, he swam a 1:59.83 (ranking him 25th all time in the 15-16 age group in the U.S.). Maedel and Carle Represent At Open Water Zones
April 26, 2025 — Over 350 swimmers came together in Fort Myers, Florida to compete in the Southern Zone Open Water race. The 12 & Under age group competed in the 2K race while the 15 & Over age groups competed in the 5K race. Mitchell Maedel (Baylor Varsity) and Wyeth Carle (Baylor Swim Club) were selected by Southeastern Swimming to represent our LSC (local swim committee). This LSC goes to compete 14 other LSC in the Southern Zone – including North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and more.
Maedel, a sophomore for Baylor School, competed in the 4x300m relay (finishing in 10th with a time of 1:13.10 – scoring team points for Southeastern Swimming) and the 5K (finishing in 48th with a time of 1:22.25) for the 15-16 age group. Carle, a junior on the Baylor Swim Club, competed in the 5K race (finishing in 10th – scoring individual points for Southeastern Swimming) for the 15-16 age group. Club Records, Futures Cuts, and National Rankings at 2025 Southern Premier
February 28, 2025 — Baylor Swim Club traveled to Nashville from Feb. 28-Mar. 2 to compete at the 2025 Southern Premier Championships, hosted at the Tracy Caulkins Natatorium, for our last championship meet of the short course yards season! This event featured some of the top teams – nationally and regionally. We want to personally congratulate all the swimmers that achieved getting a cut to swim at this event and for the way you represented Baylor Swim Club!

Drew Hitchcock Makes History at U.S. Olympic Trials
Baylor Swim Club Takes 5th at Southeastern Long Course Championships, Six Athletes Named to SES Zone Age Group All-Star Team
HUNTSVILLE, AL– On the weekend of July 14-16, 2023, over forty Baylor Swim Club athletes competed at the Southeastern Swimming Long Course Championships. Over 800 athletes from the states of Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida competed at the Huntsville Aquatic Center in Huntsville, AL. The Baylor Swim Club finished 5th overall out of 43 teams in the combined team scores with a total of 1,009 points. This is four places higher than in 2022, and almost double the amount of points scored. Leading the way for the Aqua Raiders were some outstanding performances from both Sam Flack and fourteen-year-old Hayden Vicknair. Flack captured the high points award in the 15-Over age group. He finished first in the 1500-meter freestyle, 400-meter free, and took second in the 200-meter free, and 200-meter butterfly events. Hayden Vicknair also the high points scorer in 13-14 boys age group. Vicknair had first-place finishes in the 200-meter freestyle, 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter freestyle, 100-meter, and 200-meter butterfly events. The 13-14 girls age group scored some major points for the Baylor Swim Club. Thirteen-year-old Anara Summers swam to a Southeastern Championship in the 400-meter IM clocking a time of 5:12.31. Summers also had a second-place finish in the 200-meter butterfly. Teammate Ava Sugden also had an impressive meet capturing second in the 13-14 girls 50 and 200-meter backstroke.
